Assurance
Being Sure of Your Salvation
God gave us His Holy Word, the Bible, so that we can know
without any doubt that we have eternal life.
"These things have I written unto you that believe on
the name of the Son of God; that may know that ye have eternal
life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of
God." I John 5:13
Believe
To know for sure that we are saved, we must believe in the
Savior, Jesus Christ. Do you believe? That word "believe"
carries with it the idea of total surrender, placing our total
trust [faith] in what Christ did for us on the cross. The
bible tells us:
"Now faith is the substance [assurance] of things hoped
for, the evidence of things not seen." Hebrews 11:1
Faith carries with it the idea of assurance. If we have
faith, God gives us the assurance, the certainty, the knowledge,
that we have passed from death unto life.
Believing then involves action on our part, placing our
trust by faith in Christ and Christ alone to receive God's
most precious gift, eternal life.
"For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not
of yourselves: it is the gift of God:" Ephesians 2:8
Sometimes we act contrary to God's Word and place our faith
in the wrong things relying on good works, money, or other
things, including church membership, but these are NOT able
to make us right with God. Only placing our faith in our Lord
and Savior, Jesus Christ can save us.
"I am the way, the truth and the life: no man cometh unto
the Father but by Me." John 14:6

your eternal salvation? If your still unsure and need to assess
